We sat down with Jennifer Strawn to ask, why photography ?

What did you do before photography?

“Before I was a photographer I was and still am a portrait and abstract painter.”

Whats most important in life ?

I am a Mother and wife; to me family is everything.

Why do you do photography?

Photography is art there is a connection between what the artist captures to the person that views it. It might remind them of something, it may make them feel happiness, sadness or passion what ever it might be it speaks in a form as a painting on the wall would, with out speaking at all.

Why Weddings?

When it comes to weddings I like to capture what happens in the moments. Sometimes you'll find me on the dance floor dancing camera in tow just to capture that little smile or the pitter patter of little feet .

Its funny but after the weddings when I am editing I feel joy doing the finial images and going through the whole wedding its like reading a love story. I feel emotionally connected ,its a beautiful thing. I want my clients to feel the way they did on that day when they receive their photos as on the day it happened.

I love what I do.

What do you do when your not doing photography?

Uh? [ she laughs ] no I spend time with my family and friends kayaking, barbecuing or doing something outdoorsy.
